What is Acent?

Acent is a monthly newsletter that spotlights small, trusted nonprofits in college towns across the country. We help students discover meaningful local work and decide if they want to support it.

Do you collect donations?

No. We don’t process or handle donations. Every link in our newsletter goes directly to the nonprofit’s official website.

How do you choose which charities to feature?

We look for local organizations with a clear mission, strong track record, and transparent operations. We prioritize groups with high ratings on Charity Navigator and a direct connection to the college town community.

How often will I get the newsletter?

Once a month. That’s it. No spam, no daily emails.

Can I suggest a charity?

Yes. If you know a great local nonprofit, you can submit it by clicking “Suggest a Charity” at the top of the site. We review every submission.

Will you expand to other schools?

Yes. If you don’t see your school, you can nominate your campus through our “Nominate Your School” form.
